We have recently been alerted to 'Phishing' attacks currently being distributed via email.  'Phishing' attacks are designed to steal consumers' personal identity data and financial account credentials. Social-engineering schemes use 'spoofed' e-mails to lead consumers to counterfeit websites designed to trick recipients into divulging financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames, passwords and social security numbers. Hijacking brand names of banks, e-retailers and credit card companies, phishers often convince recipients to respond.
The current attack appears to be sent from 'First National Bank' and contains text similar to the following:

In accordance with our new security enhancements, we are currently having major adjustments and updates of user accounts to verify that the information you have provided with us during the sign-up process are true and correct.   However, we have noticed some discrepancies regarding your account at First National Bank.  Possible causes are inaccurate contact information and invalid logout process.  

We require you to complete an account verification procedure as part of our security measure.

Warning: Choosing to ignore this message will result in a temporary suspension of your account within 24 hours, until you will choose to solve this unpleasant situation.
