FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS

We, our, and us, when used in this notice, mean First Bank.  

This is our privacy policy notice for our customers.  When we use the words 'you' and 'your' we mean the following types of customers:

Our consumer customers who have a continuing relationship by purchasing or holding financial products or services such as a(n):

  • Safe Deposit Box
  • Retail Installment Contract we hold and service
  • Self-directed Individual Retirement Account
  • Financial, Investment, or Economic advisory services
  • Mortgage brokerage services

We will tell you the sources of the information we collect about you.  We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information.

We first define some terms:

Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.  Hereafter, we will use then term "information" to mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.

An affiliate is a company that we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us.  Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

A nonaffiliated third party is a person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours.  This is also known as nonaffiliated third party, or simply, an "other party."


THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE ABOUT YOU

We do NOT disclose any information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.  When outside parties perform services on our behalf, in some instances we may disclose your name and address.  This information may be provided to certain non-financial companies and independent contractors for the purpose of servicing your account or to perform joint marketing or similar services on our behalf with respect to products or services we provide.  These companies and contractors are subject to confidentiality provisions and restrictions that prohibit using the information beyond the performance of the specified services on our behalf.


INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER CUSTOMERS

We do not disclose information about former customers, except as permitted by law.


ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF IDENTITY THEFT

If you suspect misuse of your personal information to commit fraud, take action immediately.  Keep a record of all conversations and correspondence when you take the following action:

  1. Contact us and credit card issuers immediately
  2. File a police report with your local police department
  3. Contact the three major credit bureaus and request a copy of your credit report.

  4. Check your mailbox for stolen mail
  5. Maintain a written chronology of what happened, what was lost, and the steps you took to report the incident.

CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES

As permitted by law, your credit experiences with us will be reported to the credit reporting agencies (credit bureaus).  However, credit reporting agencies may sell or share your name and certain other information to outside companies for marketing purposes.  You may want to direct these agencies not to sell or share this information about you.  To do so, you can call (we can not call for you) this toll free number (888) 567-8688.  You will be prompted to answer certain questions.
